Ipratropium bromide is used for the prevention and treatment of bronchial asthma and asthmatic chronic bronchitis. It is particularly suitable for patients who cannot tolerate β-adrenergic agonists due to side effects such as muscle tremors and tachycardia. When combined with β-adrenergic agonists, it exhibits synergistic therapeutic effects. For example, it is formulated with fenoterol in the aerosol product BERODUAL for asthma, chronic bronchitis, and emphysema.
